Tiger Woods first caddie was the personable and colorful Fluff Cowan. The dynamic duo's two and a half year tenure together was highlighted by the 1997 Masters victory. "Fluff is one of my best friends," said Tiger. "He and I can talk about anything. He knows me and my entire game, knows my adrenaline level. On the course, he and I go over every shot selection." The partnership was ended over speculation that Tiger Woods had grown dissatisfied with Fluff's work ethic and the distration that Fluff's increasing popularity caused. Mike "Fluff" Cowan had managed to film a commercial and was becoming minor celebrity. In a statement released by his agency, Tiger stated: "We both feel it is in our best interest to part ways...I appreciate the support which Fluff has provided and recognize the contributions Fluff has made to my success as a professional. But it is time to move on and I feel confident we will remain friends."
